PS: James Hong is alive and well and 96 years old. He started acting in the 1950s, and was recently in "#KungFuPanda 4" in 2024
Just last night, watching 'Tank Girl' (1995) in @GrillChill watch party, I was delighted to see James make a surprise appearance. Again, as a dodgy body modification doctor.
Holy shit I haven’t seen Tank Girl since probably 1998, on VHS. I had completely forgotten James Hong was in that.
His favorite performance of mine will always be as Lo Pan in Big Trouble in Little China, though. Just pure 80’s nostalgia.
#TankGirl was on #VHS last night too, even with grainy trailers for Species & Clive Barker's Lord of Illusions.
And we saw #BigTroubleinLittleChina for #KungFuSat just 10 days ago. One of my favourite films of all time!
After 'Tank Girl' came out, there was franchise in the shape of, among other things, boots.
I got them.
They are old but still in perfect condition, even the soles! It's not like I didn't wear them; I walked in forests, on long roads, in the city. They are fab. Look at them! 💗
