It's not especially relevant to my current life, or to my conversations on Mastodon, but I'm an international award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker.

I used to talk about screenwriting regularly on my pre-Fediverse accounts.

Are there hashtags or groups that TV and film writers congregate around in the Fediverse? I wouldn't mind picking those conversations back up.

(And I'm pondering a related project to launch in the new year.) 1/n

@ShaulaEvans @writing I tend to use the hastags #IndieFilmMaking #IndieFilmMakers when I post about stuff we're doing. To be honest, I don't think there is quite the community here compared to somewhere like BlueSky, but I hold out hope that I've just not made contact with it yet.

I used to write screenplays but could never find a suitable partner in production. Most are inexperienced or incapable of raising funds. Still, I hope that someday I can make that contact with someone who likes my work and wants to do something with it.

Stick it out. There are people who admire your resolve.

@Firebird7479 @ShaulaEvans Thank you. I mean, your description of extant Prod Co.s is kind of us. We've made a grand total of three films, one's still in post, and the first one we didn't raise money for, just got asked to make something and had a go at guesstimating what it would cost.
Still planning for success though - got a feature in development with a script written, support from the most important stakeholder, and something resembling a plan for attracting talent & a bigger Prod Co. to come alongside and push it on.

When the time comes and you're looking for US distributorship, I can put in touch with a friend who works in that field.
