@ai6yr So, you'd appreciate this. I refinished it with some old varathane stain that I found in the garage (from a previous owner). I tested it out on a spot, and it was still good!

@ai6yr One of these days, I'll take a picture of another one of my grandmother's pieces of furniture that I refinished. When I was a kid, I spilled nail polish on the top, and "ruined" it -- so she gave it to me. Years later, I painted a "faux marble" design on the top. I wish my grandmother had been around to see my "restoration". I think she might have wanted it back. ;-)
