@moira The meter reader's error was in overreach. If they had kept the reading moderate but grossly incorrect, you wouldn't have noticed.

@phaysis yeah but if that's what they did they'd have to start gradually increasing the overreading or it'd all just come back to me anyway so it wouldn't matter.

@moira misread is pretty easy to fix. Extra now that everyone has digital cameras. I fixed a bad electric bill in about 15 minutes on the phone once upon a time.

@moira Is it even possible to use that much water? (I mean, maybe it is, but you’d think an increase like that would trigger an investigation? I dunno, I guess that’d take people or someone putting safeguards into the automated software.)
