Excited bc our local theater is doing a late showing of Shin Godzilla on their biggest screen tonight and I've got tickets.
Ah, this movie is as good as I remember it. While I love campy Godzilla movies, I love this one for taking itself seriously and for returning to its allegorical roots.
I also love that while it has a lot of criticism and mockery, it also acknowledges the impossibility of the moral dimensions of the problems being faced. They even lampshade a trolley problem in a way that manages to be both kind of silly and very serious.
Seeing it on the big screen was really a treat!
