@verge I wouldn't be surprised if quite a lot of the #fediverse folk listen to #music via #MPD.

@magitian @verge I'm using #MPD controlled from #emacs via [mpdel](https://github.com/mpdel/mpdel) So far it works quite well and I like it better than say using a music player directly in emacs since issues with the music player could hang emacs. I figure since this is just sending controls/querying MPD it's less likely to hang. So far so good!

@pabryan @verge amazing! As fascinating as using MPD from within Emacs is, there are some MPD clients (Euphonica) that nail the appearance game too well for me to compromise on them.

@magitian @verge I'll check that out. I have been thinking of using something that looks a bit nicer . mpdel works well, but is quite minimal.

@magitian #Euphonica is very nice. And I discovered another bonus to using #MPD - I can still control playback via #emacs after using Euphonica to (or any other client) to choose which music to listen to :)
