Isn't it interesting how all kinds of health influencers and right wing grifters always finds a new food we should fear and avoid at all costs, but never mention the second leading cause of death: air pollution, or it's leading causes: our dependence on fossil fuels and cars https://www.unicef.org/press-releases/air-pollution-accounted-81-million-deaths-globally-2021-becoming-second-leading-risk
Air pollution accounted for 8.1 million deaths globally in 2021, becoming the second leading risk factor for death, including for children under five years

Comprehensive new report details health impacts of air pollution, which has moved ahead of tobacco and poor diet as a risk factor for death.

It could almost feel like they only want us to know about possible problems that can be blamed on, and fixed, mostly by the individual. Yeah, the system can make some foods easier to avoid, but you can also do it yourself, and if you don't, well, aren't you mostly to blame for your own bad health?
And even if you get aware of issues that needs systemic change to be fixed, it's almost as if they want you to not have any attention or energy left to demand a better world from our politicians, because you've spent it all keeping up to date on the latest demon food, checking every ingredient, etc
Almost. I don't really think most of them actually care that much. I especially don't think they had a meeting and decided this is why they focus on the individual. I just think it's a "happy coincidence" for the system that the place you can earn money is also the place that focuses people invard.
There's not a lot of money in asking people to call their representatives or support their local candidate. There is a lot of money in selling cook books and supplements and courses. And the system is so big and I am so small, I can control me, so I'd rather watch ad filled videos about me.
But when the videos are about every small little detail I do wrong in my everyday life, and there's a new detail that is _extremely_ important every month. I don't really think that's good for my health, actually. But it's better for their wallets than to talk about air pollution.
Oh, and hey, if we actually did change the system, to get rid of the worst health problems, then fewer people would be anxious and desperate about their health, and that's no good for the health gurur economy. So who knows, maybe they are at least a bit conscious about it?

At least the right wing grifters very much want to protect status quo.

I don't think the rise of global fascism and the switch of health woo being mostly a hippie left wing thing to a alpha bro right wing thing is totally accidental. The right wants you self focused, for the gift and for the system

So I think that if you want better health you should

1 Reduce stress/anxiety by not focusing so much on your individual food choices
2 Reclaim time for sleep/socializing/relaxation, by not keeping up to date on all health fads
3 Support politicians and organizations working to reduce air pollution

And other systemic changes other than air pollution too, ofc

Like: Become a member of an organization, talk positively about good policies in your friend group, going to a local hearing and speak in support of new bicycle infrastructure, donate and/or volunteer for a candidate, etc. For your health
