I hate, hate, hate #Synchrony bank right now! I need to update my contact information. So not even two hours earlier, I was able to sign in okay thanks to being able to obtain a username, and I didn't have to verify my identification. ThenI went to manage my profile and edit the information on there, and it says give us your phone number so we can send you an actual code. So I do, and it says that they can't verify me via that phone number and to enter another number. My profile shows (even for the customer agent I spoke to) says my number is right.The agent says I need to make sure my number is verified with Social Security. It is. So then I get logged out of Synchrony bank and have to log in again... Now it's asking me to verify ID by scanning ID/selfie, which I can't do because I'm totally #Blind and can't see the stupid animation. You know what, #Sweetwater is great, but they need to use a different bank for their cards. And Synchrony needs better customer service, hands down.
See thread for details. I was finally able to get somebody who knew what they were doing to update my information for me apart from my legal name. She was the third person I spoke with about this issue. I'll have to send in proof of my name change by mail, which is annoying, but I can't blame #Synchrony for that. I tell you what though... Getting this updated should not have been this hard. I now have no spoons for anything else at this point. Please guys, please provide alternatives to the self-ID scan methods for verification. We visually impaired people really, really have a hard time with that sort of thing, and not all of us have sighted assistance we can call on at any time we want! #A11y #Blind #VisuallyImpaired
