Ooh squee it shouldn't make me as glad as it does but the #ComcastEmail lives another day thanks to @AiraVI agent Brenton. My hero of the day. Their site had an allow third party apps check box that screen readers didn't even see as a checkbox but Brenton could click it just fine.
Well, after all of that, the poor #ComcastEmailAddress still appears to be not functional and dead. That just makes me love my #Fastmail address all the more. #WorthEveryPenny it costs me. Stil, it was a joy to speak to #Brenton so nothing is ever wasted.
@robini71 I haven’t had to use a Comcast email address or one from my isp in over a decade. Regardless of the method, I highly recommend not having to depend on your internet provider for your email.
@amy0223 As I indicated, I hadn’t used mine for anything significant at all since 2007. It was simply a souvenir of a bygone era as it were. But now that it isn’t working, it is just that a souvenir with which I will probably part.
@robini71 I thought I read somewhere that Comcast was getting rid of all of their email addresses. I don’t know if it’s true but it sounds like it might be since you’re having an issue. Seems like they’d have to notify people and then enough time but who knows. Good luck.

@robini71 What is it about this service that you find so enjoyable and awesome? An email address change is in the near future
@startrek2025 Let me count the ways. No creepy ads, no creepy tracking. It's not tied to a provider. Its web interface can be dealt with in terms of for instance setting rules server side so they sync across devices if you're into that kind of thing. You can use it in third party apps such as the native app in iPhone or Outlook or Thunderbird. It works like gMail in that you generate a one time app password to be entered and then it just remembers it and away you go.
@robini71 Does it support Imap, pop3 or both? How myuch storage do you get?
@startrek2025 Storage depends on the plan. As for pop I'm not sure because I haven't used that protocol in ages. I believe the middle plan either gives you 30 or 50 gig.
@startrek2025 Also, the few times I've needed support they've been very responsive. If you want to use third party apps you want their mid-tier plan not the basic one. I got a 30 day trial at the suggestion of my friend @Bruce and at day 10 I liked it so much I subscribed for a year. By day 30 I increased the plan for 3 years which is as far out as they go.
@robini71 What are the advantages? Honest question because I keep seeing references to it and I have been curious. Right now, I use Gmail, I sort of use iCloud, and my SBC global address that just kind of hangs out and sends me a lot of spam.
@robini71 Sorry. I didn’t realize you were being asked that question multiple times before I asked.
@robini71 I love Fastmail. I’ve had it now for about four years I think. Of course I still have Outlook, Gmail, iCloud and more. But Fastmail is my main personal email. And I love it.
@robini71 @AiraVI My Comcast is still working but I haven’t used it but once a year and then only to test it to see if it still works. Smile!
