I could renew a handful of CompTIA certs by passing the PenTest+ exam within the next month. If I don't act, all of them will expire.

With dedication, a month might be enough time to get up to speed. The only real question is whether it's worth the effort and expense to add PenTest+ to my collection of certifications.

Two years after completing my cybersecurity degree, I can't say my BA or any of the certs have helped my career. #ITCertifications

@analogfusion My impression is that tech certifications have always been a scam. The courses and knowledge may be useful, but the actual certs? Not standardised enough and too numerous for employers to bother with, and good mainly for padding out a weak resume.

But, in this day of AI application screening, they might be more useful than they used to be >A>

@eishiya It's a quandary. I'm sure I miss out on some job opportunities because I refuse to use AI for my resume or cover letters. I'm not going to contribute to the destruction of the planet to advance my employment opportunities.
