My first musical offering to the fediverse! I just uploaded an album by my old band New Bloods to bandwagon.fm. We were a dancey post-punk trio with violin. New Bloods formed in Portland, Oregon in 2006 and broke up two years later, releasing one 7" on Raw Sugar Records and an LP on #KillRockStars in that time. We toured the US extensively and Western Europe once. Our biggest influences were bands like The Raincoats, ESG and The Slits.

@shotgunseamstress This was a great listen and felt like just the right mix of "unexpected" and "such a welcome and enjoyable sound that I found it soothing." Thank you for sharing it with us!
@brainwane I really love that! Those are the qualities I look for in music and I’m glad I was in at least one band that hit the mark. Thank you.
@shotgunseamstress love this record. I remember Megan from Condenada talking to me about it and I believe lent me a copy. I referenced it in a review for Counterforce recently.
@THINK Sorry, just now seeing your reply. That's so awesome. I met Megan once or twice but I was friends with Mariam, the singer. Can you link me to the review?

@shotgunseamstress they were all so great to me when I first started coming to shows. They really built something powerful in Chicago and it was great to be a young punk with all those people looking out for us. I haven't seen Miriam in a long time but I love her dearly.

I mentioned y'all in this review: https://the-counterforce.org/sharp-pins-radio-ddr/

SHARP PINS - RADIO DDR CS – The Counterforce

@THINK Nice. “Dissolution of genre tropes” is my favorite genre.
@shotgunseamstress : Hey, hello ! This LP is so great, i think i will try to grab it in vinyl somewhere. Do you still have copies of it ? Have a nice evening. Alain.
@lesclampinsdabord it was released by Kill Rock Stars. Please check with them or look on Discogs. I’m sure you can find one.

@lesclampinsdabord
It's on the K.R.S. Bandcamp, but only on CD and digital.
A local record shop might be a better place to ask.

@shotgunseamstress Is the name referencing Adele Bertei's old band?
@davefischer Sort of. I think the name came up in conversation but we liked it because it referenced The Bloods. I love that you made that connection. “Born In Flames” and the NY no wave & post-punk scene were huge inspirations for us.

@shotgunseamstress Born In Flames blew me away when I discovered it about ten years ago. Imagine seeing it in 1983!

(I was reminded of it recently when people started using whistles while resisting ICE.)
