A tale of two vibes.
@georgetakei America has never been such a laughingstock as it is now.

@never2L8 @georgetakei Well, yes. You're in a banana republic territory now πŸ™„

From my Finnish perspective, with Trump it seems like at every crossroads the worst possible road is taken by the US. A sad clown leads some kind of deranged cult, and the sane people can't take things under control.

It's wild to think about what kind of persons are in control of Russia and US. How to defend the systems of government in a straight face that produce leaders like Trump and Putin.

@ekari @georgetakei Luckily, I live in Europe. Still, things are starting to go to hell here too β€” largely 'thanks' to the Kremlin's fish-eyed dwarf...

@never2L8 @georgetakei My take on things is that Trump is pissing away all the soft power US had and in doing so making #eu more of a thing in Europe. #russia on the other hand is diminishing itself fighting #ukraine and will be ever deeper in China's pocket.

The only thing left to do is to support #ukraine, buy local (EU) and good things will follow.

@ekari @georgetakei I don't believe Trump makes any real decisions on his own. Everything he does seems to play right into Russia’s hands. Just recently, he handed Putin a perfect gift β€” breaking years of isolation by meeting with him and shaking his hand.

I tend to believe those who say the KGB recruited him back in the 1980s.

@ekari @georgetakei As for Europe... Try to defeat a street thug in a fair fight, and you'll lose β€” because he doesn’t play by the rules. Russia is that thug, that gangster, who has no rules and no honor.

Until the world recognizes Russia as a terrorist state, nothing will change.

@never2L8 @georgetakei I agree on Russia and rules. I'm also pretty sure the world already knows what Russia is. It's just the US currently walking around as a clueless zombie πŸ™„

In almost every metric imaginable Russia will emerge from this three day excursion in worse shape than it went in. In that sense it has already lost.

But there could also be a seed for a better future for Russia. But that would mean dealing with their past as Germany did.
