i have compiled a list of free image resources inspired by a conversation on bluesky last week about how cheap ai images make blogs look https://livelaugh.blog/posts/non-ai-images-for-blogs-websites/
you do not have to use generative ai "art" in your blogs because there are websites where you can get real, nice images for free

hi, i'm jenn schiffer and this is my lifestyle blog

@jenn hell yeah.

i read a blog a year ago (and it kills me that i can't find it again) that said "literally point your phone camera at anything (the sky, a tree, your coffee cup) and take a photo of it and use that for your splash photo. that is immediately more human and interesting than any AI slop political cartoon ass diagram"
when given the option to prompt anything, any style, cute little otters instead of people... people choose nothing! it's fascinating
@jenn adding on with another website that's my main source for blog images, and i always recommend to anyone: outside. y'know, the one with the grass they keep saying to touch. just go for a walk with your phone and snap some shots. it's fun, it's easy and it's free
@jenn I knew most of these but I've never heard of rawpixel before and damn, that's such a good site. 😲 Thank you.
