By control over media, simply ignoring, discrediting the participants...

Because democratic movements care about democratic values - fascists and corrupt politicians don't.

There has always been those who try and suppress the truth, but people can see for themselves what is happening so they don't need the media to tell them what is and isn't.

Which is only a part of the dilemma. Even if "people can see" they are by reality to powerless to run all those multisystemchanges needed.
Here in germany a majority is for a lot of good things: speedlimits, more climate actions, to ban the far right party #afd , #proimmigrants ..
And see what happens. Right the opposite. Fucking politicians rolling back even a lot of social, democratic and environmental achievements.
#fascism , #antiscience + #trumpism is on the rise everywhere.
