I am running around doing final packing for #dwebcampcascadia It’s a small ~50 person event on Salt Spring Island that the @dwebyvr.org and friends crew put together. Yes, it’s actually camping, although power, Internet, & running water are all available dwebyvr.org/camp/ (sold out BTW)

And yes, it starts tomorrow, I’m just heading over early as part of the setup crew with @daffl.me @expede.wtf @jacobsayles.bsky.social I’ll either be threading here or tagging #dwebcampcascadia, although historically as soon as I’m touching grass and hugging friendly faces I’ll be on here less!

Last minute Canadian Tire this morning.
Jacob has set up a #meshtastic node in the car with an antenna on the roof. Mobile mesh is go!
Ok we made it to the ferry (and are in fact on it now). The middle picture is to show the antenna on the roof which is part of the Galiano network www.galianonet.org that @avibryant.com helped setup @jacobsayles.bsky.social @daffl.me @expede.wtf on the ferry #dwebcampcascadia
This is exciting! @jacobsayles.bsky.social got a #meshtastic message to his solar repeater on his balcony next to False Creek - and it routed through the CoFood Collaborative Garden node!
Ok! We made it on island, went to our temp campground at an eco village on the mountain, had dinner in town, and I’m now cozy in my pop up tent with LED lantern. Good night, see you tomorrow campers! (the actual campground is a meadow at the farm, this is our temp spot by Mount Maxwell)
