Every time I look at anything Liquid Glass, this is all I’ll ever see
@dale_price
I’m now imagining their design team sliding about little translucent swastikas on their oak table for Tim.
@dale_price should have signed it "Tim Apple".
@dale_price Someone's turning in their grave. I think.

@ltning @dale_price Yep.

Say what one will about Steve Jobs, I don’t think he would have bent the knee like this.

@jeff @ltning @dale_price

And the “designed by a Marine veteran Apple employee and the base was made in Utah a solid red state” is gross.

Big “not one of our effete queers” energy.

@jonhendry @jeff @dale_price I didn't even connect those dots. Talk about taking gross and grossifying it. Ugh!
@dale_price It’s… a plaque.

@avirr @dale_price

It’s a bribe for an autocrat

@jonhendry @dale_price As bribes go, it’s underwhelming.

@avirr @dale_price

Trump is cheap. A little shiny goes a long way.

@dale_price I can’t believe he even put his own fucking name on it.

Unreal.

#TimCook #Trump #LiquidGlass

@jeff I disagree with the whole thing too, but I still wonder if it's a way to somehow express who's taking the fall for Apple's current political situation.

The writing shows the one inside the company to take the hit. And that part I think it's appropriate.

@dale_price artifacts like this are why we're going to need a Museum of American Fascism, to remember the depravity
@dale_price I don't like Trump either. But this is a relatively standard kind of tchotchke that has always been given to Presidents.
Tokens and Treasures

Tokens and Treasures exhibit features gifts to U.S. presidents by American citizens and foreign heads of states.

@dale_price Does anyone else find it mildly annoying that the text on the glass part does not appear to be square to the base.

(Sorry.)

@plwt @dale_price I used perspective distortion to get the text horizontal … well.

I’m not saying there is no explanation for this that is not embarrassing for Apple.

@teilweise @dale_price I appreciate your efforts to verify that. Thank you.
@dale_price Dang, I have sooooo many snarky comments I want to say.
@dale_price Is this refraction? Those hands in the background look small‘ish.
@dale_price Well, I guess it’ll look good in the National Museum of American Fascist Sympathisers in a few years…
@dale_price Remind me: which brick on the sunlit path toward justice is this?

@dale_price Regardless of any ideological thoughts on this, a CEO is meant to look after the interests of the shareholders. In doing all he can to avoid the tariff impact by re-shoring some production, Tim is doing exactly the right thing.

To repurpose and adjust a famous Michael Jordan saying “Republicans buy iPhones too.”

Selling to all customers and not just those you agree with is actually good business.
