@Lashiel I feel like at bare minimum the golden rule should at least be taught though.
That is less churchy, but gets to the point of what people want to teach about morality.

@CaptainMalu @Lashiel Given some people abuse God for their goals if they are not mature enough, yeah.
If people are mature God isn't a bad thing to teach. But that is in itself the problem.
A lot of people who approach God are not mature enough just seek quick fixes and that will only make things worse. So basically yeah.
good one, Vee.
Fascism and religion goes together so well, because they both have the same basics: blame another for your faults.
They teach people to learn the Scripture but not practice it. And they teach them to understand it as they teach it. Rather than teaching that everyone should read the Scripture on their own and try to have independent thoughts about it.
A wave of western thinkers thought God in Christianity doesn't make sense. And most of them went into arguing that there is no God. But there are Christians who don't have the same believes about God like 99.9% of other Christians do. They don't believe in Trinity.
This is just a single example on what would be the outcomes if people study it with clean mind and almost without prejudges.
@Lashiel Easy - morality can’t be pushed upon you from above. Who wouldn’t rebel against that?
Religion-free (or at least agnostic) philosophy classes stimulating one’s own thinking about morality? I wish I’d had more of that in school
