A new #TrawsCymru T51 bus service, launching in September 2025, will improve public #transport links between Rhyl, Denbigh, Ruthin, and Wrexham as part of Network North Wales. Operated by Arriva, it replaces the current 51/X51 services. Key improvements include hourly buses between Ruthin and Wrexham (up from two-hourly), and a new hourly Sunday service between Wrexham and Rhyl. Simplified fares and digital ticketing will also be introduced. Further enhancements from March 2026 will include better integration with rail and other TrawsCymru routes, along with modern, accessible, and sustainable vehicles. Ken Skates, Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North #Wales, announced the upgrade at the National Eisteddfod, stating it reflects priorities to boost regional connectivity. Arriva says the service will support modal shift, network growth, and local opportunity.

I use the x51 a fair bit, so I asked #TrawsCymru for more info on #T51, i.e. start date, and got a reply:

"The TrawsCymru T51 service is scheduled to commence on 28 September. [...] The service will operate every 30 minutes between #Rhyl and #Denbigh, with hourly extensions to #Wrexham Departures from Rhyl are scheduled for 18 minutes past the hour to Wrexham and 48 minutes past the hour to Denbigh, while buses from Wrexham bus station will depart at 50 minutes past the hour."

Also, as #TrawsCymru only use Twitter and FB, I asked if they''d consider adding RSS to their website. They replied:

"...we do not support integration with RSS feeds. This has been a considered decision, based on the expectation that usage of this platform would be minimal, and therefore the development effort required to implement and maintain it would not be proportionate.

That said, we’ll share this feedback with our wider teams to gauge whether there’s interest..."
