Currently, there seems to be a strong movement in aviation to promote #biometrics as useful.
First, Ryanair attracted attention with a facial scan, as this was an obvious violation of the #GDPR.
As @noybeu *1 reported in December 2024, this also involves mandatory accounts.

Now airports are also appearing with biometrics advertising. For example, Berlin Airport (BER) is promoting the "service" 'BER Biometrics' *0.
So far, I haven't been able to find any critical posts on the topic. However, @anneroth had already asked about experiments
in December 2024 *2. Currently, amenities such as faster onboarding are being advertised.

Facial recognition only works with an app that must be downloaded (com.smartdepart.app on Android).
Thus, the known critical consequences *3 of biometrics, such as the "sale of biometric features," are provided by the future victims themselves.

In other words, by the customers of the airlines or airports themselves.
