One of four wooden statues (Hiromokuten) of the four heavenly kings of Horyu-ji, #Japan. According to #Nihonshoki, when he joined the battle between Soga Umako and Mononobe Moriya in 587, Prince Shotoku vowed to build Shitenno-ji if he won. In 593, he was grateful for the victory.
