It was more a dig towards the walled-garden platforms - Spotify, BBC Sounds, etc - who release content which is solely available on their platform, yet still refer to it as a podcast.

I recorded a podcast (with an RSS feed) episode a few years back about this exact subject. As you may pick up, I'm quite passionate about this.
