@echo_pbreyer do we know when in October? On October 3rd and 4th there are Czech parliamentary elections, so a lot can change
@echo_pbreyer Color blindness here checking in, map makes no sense to me 💚
@vrtxd @echo_pbreyer
NL, AT and PL are Opposing/Neutral.
@phneutral @vrtxd @echo_pbreyer thanks! I couldn't see this at all
@vrtxd @echo_pbreyer it's literally just the Netherlands, Poland and Austria for opposed/neutral.
@vrtxd @echo_pbreyer Same issue here, and not only because of the colour blindness.
@vrtxd isn't the alt text suitable for you?
@echo_pbreyer here in Italy there’s a gov made of fascists, they love it unfortunately
@echo_pbreyer Makes me feel proud to be a Dutch citizen, but I’ll send them another e-mail nonetheless just as a reminder why we should still be against it.
Slavery doesn't usually end well for those doing the enslaving
@echo_pbreyer
@echo_pbreyer Sad to see the government of my country continuing with the support for this madness (in the process there was even a change of the party in power).
I guess, overall, our political class is too illiterate to properly understand all the implications of such a thing. They seem to rely solely on stated intentions, and nobody ever showed any interest in discussing the subject.
@dethos Never give up lobbying them!
@echo_pbreyer Bring this to other social media, tell your friends!

@echo_pbreyer
Each and every chat application seem subjected to the #evil, #dystopian #chatcontrol.
Is there any way to protect our #privacy? Can #FreeAsInDesktop or #selfhosting software be helpful?
In that case which? #matrix? #Jami? Something else?

#resharingIsAppreciated

@paoloredaelli the criteria to which it might apply, may one day also apply to instances of chat services, other than yous, and your instance may be federated with the instance to which it applies, because you chat with people from that instance, and therefore, at least some of conversations will still be spied.

@echo_pbreyer

@DiogoConstantino
Rightful. I was thinking about it and I think it is necessary for #XMPP and #Matrix to implement a "the privacy of this server/account is compromised" flag to deal with people using #taintedClients
Given the richness of the #Xmpp extensions I won't be surprised to discover it is a problem already dealt with.
@echo_pbreyer
@paoloredaelli @echo_pbreyer this is not a protocol issue. It's an application issue.
@echo_pbreyer is there an official EU petition opposing the project that we could sign? I think that would be rather useful in this context.
@echo_pbreyer Privacy rights or riot rights, they choose.
