When you're in a bad state of mind you basically always think that you shouldn't do the thing. So it is counter productive to the point of the original message...

Like e.g. "I really should go out more and do things - But outside scary so I really shouldn't do it. Everything bad *insert countless pictures your mind provides of bad situations* could happen."

And the addition I posted earlier pushes back on suicidal and self-harm thoughts.

On the other hand if you hand your initial version to someone that wants to kys, you're encouraging that. Where as with my addition you don't but encourage seeking new experiences instead.

E.g. "Because of ... I really should kys and jump off of some high place" your initial version is telling them follow through and off themselves.

My addition changes that to a "go bungee jumping" basically.

@agowa338 Ok, I see why you feel the addition is necessary. To me, the meme applies mostly to people who a scared of non-life threatening situations. The "I want to do it"-part should exclude anything potentially self-harming.
But I get it that sometimes people either don't really know, what they want, or they want things that are not good for them. Or, they push away fear when it would be totally appropriate. So, in those cases, it's more complicated than a meme.

@bytebro True. It's important to know your physical limits and to accept them. Having people around you who accept those limits too makes things a lot easier.
