There's no dummy cycle | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository

This Week in F-DroidTWIF curated on Thursday, 24 Jul 2025, Week 30F-Droid coreWith the index fix behind us, we can think of the future. But a couple of users...

@fdroidorg the founder of #simplex is an absolute nogo. So it is an ethical and humanitarian question. For me: No way to only think about simplex!

@fdroidorg I noticed, that the mozc package is heavily outdated like 6 years or so. I think that one needs an update^^

@vamp898 As usual, help is welcomed.

@fdroidorg how?^^ I have almost no Android knowledge but I'm an Gentoo Admin and I know C pretty well, so I'm not a stranger to code.

If there is a way I can help, sure

@vamp898 @fdroidorg I think the upstream stopped supporting the full android keyboard and only has basic bindings for the mozc engine now. Compare the android subdirectory in an old version[0] versus the latest release tag[1]:

@vamp898 @fdroidorg Oh yeah, in the readme.md:

> Note: Mozc does not contain the client UI implementation for Android.

@alphazino @fdroidorg That is a bummer... it can't be helped
