The Apple Liquid Glass debate is reminiscent of Windows Vista, which also had semi-transparent chrome on its windows and dialog boxes in 2008.

The new generation of Apple designers didn't learn from the old generation's Windows mistakes, I guess.

Or maybe we don't see Apple's vision, yet. Should we listen harder and look harder?

@FiveSketches @thomasfuchs I remember telling all the windows people how bad their OS was. Pointing out all the issues of it. I've been recommending Apple stuff to my family for years and getting my older family to update their software and devices.

I am going to tell them all to turn off automatic updates this fall and to not install iOS 26.

I genuinely feel bad about the direction Apple is going. It's not all of Apple. But this is just too big of misstep for me to defend or recommend.
