Judge Hippler described the killer as a “coward” who had “slithered” into a home in Moscow, #Idaho, in Nov 2022 & fatally stabbed the 4 victims. He handed down 4 #LifeSentences, saying they would run consecutively.

The sentence came after friends & relatives of the victims addressed the court, describing their loss & fury over the #killings. “Because of him,” said 1 of 2 surviving roommates, Dylan Mortensen, “4 beautiful, genuine, compassionate people were taken from this world for no reason.”

Several family members took the opportunity to…[give victim/survivor statements] to Kohberger…. Randy Davis, the stepfather of 1 of the victims, concluded by telling him to “go to hell.”

Kohberger, 30, agreed to 4 consecutive #LifeSentences as part of a #PleaDeal that allows him to avoid #execution for the fatal #stabbing of the 4 #UniversityOfIdaho #students early on Nov 13, 2022. But many questions remain unanswered, including…: What was the motive?

When the judge asked Kohberger to make a statement, Kohberger said, “I respectfully decline.”

Kohberger was a PhD student at nearby#WSU but was not identified as a suspect until several weeks later, after investigators used DNA found on a knife sheath to build a genetic family tree that led them to him. Questions immediately arose about his training in #criminology; he had researched high-profile #murders under the teaching of an #expert on #SerialKillers.

@Nonilex He really sounds like a psychopath. He seems to have no remorse at all.

@Nonilex

His address before the sentencing was amazing. It's on YT if anyone wants to see it.
