The JLA cover is from the height of "Bat-mania" in the 60s. Given the villain's a guy who was fighting the *Spectre* in the story, the idea of Batman punching away at this guy seems to give new meaning to the "Batman can beat anyone with enough time to prepare" tired line (or "Bat-God" phrase). 😀
