@openstreetmap I can see we're going to need a discussion about what "square" means, though...
@jonobennett @openstreetmap Always a problem with vector layers as they tend to use a relatively low coordinate precision even at high zoom
@openstreetmap when switching back to the standard layer you see how much less information is displayed on the current shortbread version. Can't understand why this is already the default you see when opening the site and you then have to switch to "standard"
@green_rage @openstreetmap it's not the default, but the site remembers which layer you last used.
@russss @openstreetmap thanks, apparently that was a long time ago. Just checked, in private mode I get the default.
@green_rage The default is still the normal OSM Carto. The link in the blog post just points to the shortbread style.

@green_rage @openstreetmap i agree. I like how usually, landcover is visible from layer 5, while in the vector version, it only starts at zoom layer 8.

But that should be an easy fix and the dark mode was much worse in the beginning and now works great, so I have high hopes. Yay vector maps!

@openstreetmap IMO elements should slowly fade depending on the zoom level and not disappear suddenly. At certain zoom levels roads have missing segments. Train lines and rivers disappear before highways. At low zoom levels OSM becomes just a map of highways #carCentrism

@openstreetmap OMG this is such a massive improvement! Great to see!

Can we please also get a vector layer prioritising bicycle and human infrastructure rather than cars? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

@openstreetmap Also, when will it be made the default?
