are you using the new command? it's in unetconfd. it's literally on sysptkm. it's configurable via xchwnt. it's literally under /usr/share/pnetdx2. you can probably grep for the qvjconf. you can update it via bungpkg. update via bungpkg. fetch it with bungpkg. you can bungpkg it. bungpkg has it for you. bungpkg has it for you.
@skrzyp @gsuberland it's a trick question, they're all C stdlib function?
@skrzyp @gsuberland as somebody who doesn't know Welsh or C, I can still say that I understand this post! d:
@skrzyp @gsuberland

*to* is fairly common for conversion/parsing functions (atoi, btoa, etc) so mbsrtowcs and wcstold are that, where wcs is "wide-char string" and the others idk what they are.

wcsoll is a scary one because wcs is a C thing but I have no idea what oll should mean. I'm gonna say it's probably Welsh.

strxfrm sounds like a formatting function but I've never heard of it. probably C.

rhowch, wmffre, mwyn, are definitely all Welsh
@sodiboo @gsuberland @skrzyp I think wcsoll is a typo of wcscoll.
@sodiboo @gsuberland @skrzyp I think you got all correct. `mbs` is multi-byte-string (e.g., UTF-8), `ld` is long `decimal`/`int`. `wcsoll` is probably a typo, should be `wcscoll` (collate), same for `mbsrtowcs` (superfluous `r`)
@ljrk @sodiboo @gsuberland @skrzyp nope the r is right, the function is ‘restartable’
@zbrown @sodiboo @gsuberland oh, of course, you're right! I mostly did some stuff implementing an internal libc but mostly the conversion functions inner workings and wasn't exposed to the whole restartable stuff and frequently forget about this class of functions ^^'
@ljrk @sodiboo @gsuberland I think the world in general forgot about that set, probably largely for the best
@skrzyp @gsuberland I know "enough ( little ) of Welsh ( and more about C ) to know which one is which" 🙂 But it's pointless for me to write it again because I see someone else did 🙂 Although we usually say "Nose da" ( we used to say that to the dog ) 😅
@skrzyp @gsuberland one of these is clearly scooby doo when he stubs his toe
@skrzyp sure that it's wcsoll and not wcscoll?
@skrzyp @gsuberland Ah so that's where the messenger got the name...
@skrzyp @gsuberland I see no C here. C++ is not C

@R1Rail @skrzyp @gsuberland Huh, everything here that's not Welsh is C from `<stdlib.h>` or `<char.h>`?

In modern and higher level C++ you'd just use `std::string` instead.

@ljrk @skrzyp @gsuberland yes but C++ ils ont C, it is another language.
@R1Rail @skrzyp @gsuberland While true, this statement has no relevance here. These functions are C functions and everyone talked about C. Why bring up C++?

@ljrk @skrzyp @gsuberland

std::lib is NOT C stdandard library but C++ standard library.

C standard library (as defined by ISO C) is described at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C_standard_library

thus eg mbstrtowcs is C++ and not C

C standard library - Wikipedia

@R1Rail @skrzyp @gsuberland

Are you kidding me? I really don't want to get too confrontational, but did you even bother to read /at all/ what I wrote or even what the link says you posted? Stop throwing words and phrases like "as defined by ISO C" around you clearly do not understand.

Let's try bullet points if long sentences are too troublesome:

* You just brought up `std::lib`, I didn't.
* I brought up `<stdlib.h>` which is literally listed in your Wikipedia link
* The current working document for the ISO C standard is here: https://www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/wg14/www/docs/n3220.pdf
* Chapter 7 is for the C standard library in a "hosted" environment and 7.24 concerns the header `<stdlib.h>`.
* Its 8th subsection concerns "Multibyte/wide string conversion functions"
* Its first entry is the `mbstowcs` function

I really don't like being harsh/rude -- but what I like less is people who have no fucking clue, do not bother to educate themselves, nor care to read what the others wrote. But instead throw around terms they've picked up somewhere and being a smartass (while wrong) about it.

Take a few steps back, breathe, and think twice next time before writing such clueless bullshit.

@ljrk @R1Rail @gsuberland guys I’ve just posted a random funny meme from my gallery which was supposed to be relevant in context of the original post and now I’m getting notifications forever

and then some drama stirred up in subthread
don’t make it more complicated please :D

@skrzyp sorry, won't @ you anymore. It's a great meme, I just dislike it when people are being very confidently wrong and not caring about reflecting this.
@skrzyp @gsuberland every standard library should have a cwtch() 🤗

@skrzyp @gsuberland @dec_hl Accessibility description: A screen with words on it titled "Welsh or standard library function". The words are:

mbsrtowcs

rhowch

strxfrm

cwtch

mwyn

wcstold

wmffre

wcsoll

@skrzyp @gsuberland @krono chwarae teg! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 😉
@skrzyp @gsuberland these are clearly all PPC assembler mnemonics.
@skrzyp @gsuberland All of these are actually randomly generated Amazon dropshippers.
@skrzyp are you trying to say Welsh isn’t part of the C standard library??

@skrzyp
Welsh = all vowels; stdlib = all consonants

No, I will not check whether this rule applies to the actually posted words
@gsuberland

@skrzyp @gsuberland Welsh is a magical language
