*absolutely fucking VIBRATES in excitement*
@catraxx I mean true, I've used both Serato and Mixxx and overall the concept is still the same... But still, both lack the 3-band waveform that I prefer, and I also haven't figured out how to make them give me a live "related tracks" view like Rekordbox either. I know Serato has smart crates, but I haven't played with them enough to see if I can make them work like Rekordbox.
If I wanna use Mixxx in the future tho, I'm gonna have to try and help with a community mapping... There currently isn't a mapping available for the FLX10 :(
@catraxx I'm still new enough that I want that guidance. Really the only one I use is the BPM+KEY one tho... I could filter my collection every time but the related tracks view just makes it so much easier and quicker to find my next track
Eventually once I'm confident enough in my skills I won't need it... but it's really handy for now.
@baralheia Ok, i guess i should elaborate. As a DJ, what people value you for is your taste. Your opinion of what is good and what isn't. You guide people through the evening. You. Not some algorithm. Some tracks that seem way off bpm-wise can sound pretty dang sweet when sped up. Some key matches make no sense whatsoever on paper, but still sound amazing.
Additional little bit of intel: None of Fatboy Slims tracks are on key. And they all sound great.
Let your taste guide you.
Takes longer. Can be frustrating. Is worth it.
@sekka Oh, you know, just a lil' something something...
I'll post more pics once I've gotten everything rearranged and properly set up!
