¾ oz Campari
1¼ oz Amaro Montenegro
1¼ oz mezcal
Garnish: orange peel
Method: Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir. Strain over a large rock, express orange peel, and garnish.
Really lovely stir found on Frederic Yarm's blog (see link below). The first sip I found bracingly bitter, but I built in-glass and perhaps didn’t stir long enough. The next few sips gave way to the sweetness of the Montenegro. For the heavy pour of mezcal I found it rather subtle.
