You're lucky if you are on Hawaiian. They are not impacted by this.
ElaineI assume they still have those staircases they could use to get to the tarmac, but maybe not easy to get people back up into the airport building?

Sean Reynolds@ChuckMcManis @ai6yr certainly they COULD offboard people that way, you may notice the pictured ramps pass in front of the jet engines, could someone make a mistake and suck everyone into the engine? Generally it’s best to design things such that no matter how bad a decision someone makes, it’s not a fatal one.
@saltbaygull @ChuckMcManis Having recently gotten off a plane like that (past the engine), they use those ramps at small airports. Engines must be shut off.
j-r conlinIIRC, both TSA and airport insurance frown on giving any unauthorized person access to the airport grounds. That’s one of the big reasons a lot of airports closed everything off. I miss being able to go down a ramp, but I think Kona is the last open airport.
