@kennethb We hear you loud and clear 👍🏻

@kennethb

Hitler built the camps immediately.

I don't mean to weaken your point against the current US government but it is important to me that this is remembered correctly. The concentration camps were there like, immediately. This really shouldn't weaken your point much because Trump is literally building camps right now, as you know.

But...

NSDAP was given full control over Germany through the election on March 5th, 1933. Hitler had been made chancellor in January 1933.

The Dachau concentration camp was ordered on March 13th and established on March 22nd, 1933, when the first 150 prisoners were transferred there.

In May 1933, the law within the camp was fully transferred to the commander and allowed for execution without prior trial.

41.500 prisoners were killed in Dachau, more were deported and killed in other camps. This was public knowledge and must not be forgotten.

SOUND FAMILIAR? OR SHOULD I TYPE LOUDER?

@kennethb

@kennethb @ElaWild
Greetings from Germany. Mate, exactly that. I also wonder why people are afraid of immigrants but not of dictators.

@kennethb blaming immigrants? Not jews? 🤔

Or was it both?

@fuchsi
I never blame immigrants for anything. Or Jews. I do blame Israeli leaders like Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, Swodrich and others. The guilty, not the innocents, ever. Does that answer your question?

@kennethb I meant your pick. About NS Germany.

I was thinking that we mostly blamed Jews.
Hitler was an immigrant himself. (And not even a blonde.)

That's why I asked.
Perhaps you knew something that I didn't.

@fuchsi @kennethb he chose Jews as nr 1 enemy, however he blamed and hated all of the Slavs, which were quite a group in Germany back then. Also not everyone know that in camps there were also disabled people, neurodivergent or with mental issues, LGBTQ+ etc, so everyone who didn't fit his vision of the country

@kennethb the first concentration camp (KZ Dachau) was opened in march 1933 - persecution and imprisonment went hand in hand just from the beginning

I was going to mention that.

In 1933 the concentration camps however were not yet killing places. People were broken, then released.

And in 1936 Hitler softened his policies to appease the international guests at the olympic games.

Mass killings in the concentration camps started during the war.

@kennethb 👆 This is so true! I'm German and I know german history. Donald Trump is a fascist like Benito Mussolini or Adolf Hitler.

@kennethb what is always missing in share-pics like this is that he first targeted what we now would call queer people.

But most folks didn't care. I'm glad this didn't happen again \s.
