HOW TO SURVIVE THE HEATWAVE:
1. Stay hydrated.
2. Have an ice cream cone.
3. Dismantle the fossil fuel industry which is literally burning the planet for the short term profit of a vanishingly small capitalist class.
4. Wear loose clothing.

@Flash

In order to be able to do point 3,
use renewable energy.
Fly as few as possible.
Eat less meat, if you can.
Drive an electric car, it's so much more fun anyway.
Go by bike or by foot... is so much more healthy!
Try to avoid plastic as thouroughly as possible. Think also of paraffin candles: Plastic is everywhere!

Just be aware:
The small capitalist class profits from your behaviour. Change it.

@Simone21 @Flash

What's the alternative to paraffin candles? Tallow?

@LevZadov

Stearin candles.
Made from vegetable oil.

@Flash

@Simone21 @Flash

Where does that stearin come from, feedlot beef or tropical palm plantations? Just wondering.

@LevZadov

You're perfectly right. It's important to to pay attention to that. πŸ‘

@Flash

@Flash
I'm givin' 'er all I got, Captain!
@Flash Cheaper electric cars wouldn't hurt.

@longshot @Flash

Where does that electricity come from? Coal? Gas? Nuclear? Solar?

@Flash agree but make sure the loose clothing is natural fibers!
@Flash keep a spray bottle by the bedside and spray down your bedsheets and yourself if in a drier climate

@Flash

5. ...
6. No profit. [1]

[1] For the fossil fuel industry.

@bodhipaksa

@Flash re: point 3; you /are/aware that the animal industry is a bigger problem---and much easier to dismantle because completely unnecessary---for the climate than the fossile fuel industry, right?
