"Part of the reason so many of these fools hate Stephen Colbert is that he lives his life as the faithful and humble Christian they constantly claim themselves to be but are too selfish and fearful to actually be."

@Scotter @charlotteclymer Crooked Jesus was a woke lunatic left. We teach the prosperity gospel in this house and worship supplychain Jesus.

Yes, we have Joel Osteen. Houstonians call his former sports arena the House of Joel.

Someone else said that he was irritated by Colbert's after watching the PBS interview with his wife after the release of their cookbook. Such a sweet interview with Colbert answering very politely. Guess it was when he said he wouldn't have him on because he was boring. Ouch.
@charlotteclymer In the imperial mindset, the job of the man is to oppress.
@charlotteclymer If Jesus saw how these evangelicals treat people in need he would just facepalm.

Worth a quote from this item:

Colbert: 'If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it.'

They hate that stuff because for Trump/GOP & their dupes & sycophants, Christianity means no more than being polite while doing murder and mayhem.

@charlotteclymer This is the kind of reporting that might actually get through to MAGAs.
