I got my Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x running PostmarketOS :D
thanks to casey, achill, valpackett and people in #aarch64-laptops and #postmarketOS on oftc for the help figuring out some of the quirks πŸ’šβ™»οΈ
@angelthorns heyy congrats!! what was missing out of interest?
@cas well to get it to boot i just had to chroot and add
"sudo apk fix linux-next" and to get the display to not be laggy i had to edit the linux next package to use 20250714.
none of that fixed it from dismounting the usb boot drive at start up though, so i just used the ubuntu concept image to install it to disk
@angelthorns @cas Nice! Does audio work now? I tried Ubuntu concept build sometime back but that had no audio support. I hope things have changed upstream since then.
@angelthorns with the OG wallpaper :3
@angelthorns ooh nice, ive been struggling to get any linux working on my 8cx gen 2 laptop :p
@angelthorns this is awesome! What is battery life like on it?
@angelthorns I'd consider buying one if they didn't come with a $300USD island tax (Australia).

@angelthorns wait, Linux of snapdragon x elite? And its working? I WANT IT! HOW DID YOU DO IT? 😭

Pls, be kind and enlighten me on this seem to be forbidden knowledge, I crave arm powered Linux laptop that can be easily purchased and not from the small Chinese cellar πŸ₯ΊπŸ‘‰πŸ‘ˆ

@angelthorns How is the experience with it?
@angelthorns oh shit thats great news, didnt realize the newer snapdragon laptops were getting support so quickly. (Rip my 8cx gen2 laptop never getting anything)

@angelthorns

hiii, I’m considering getting such a device to use with Linux. The pmOS wiki says HDMI works, but this does not have an HDMI port so does that mean it works with USB-C Alt-Modes or in some other way? Or does external display output just not work since there is no dedicated HDMI port?
