Gerhard Hallstein@threemaapp @elefan Mir ergeht es ähnlich. Ich habe es schon mehrfach versucht, meine Kontakte davon zu überzeugen, zusätzlich zu WhatsApp Threema zu nutzen, aber entweder wollen sie - aus welchen Gründen auch immer - bei WhatsApp bleiben oder sie reagieren erst gar nicht.
Das Desinteresse meiner Kontakte zeigt sich auch darin, dass sie sich nicht einmal eine Threema-Lizenz schenken lassen.

I never used #WhatsApp and told them: "Send me an SMS or contact me on threema."
Took a while, but worked.
(Mind, every single one of them still uses WA as main messenger :( )

Alex@threemaapp Bezahlt der Preis für die App die tatsächlichen Kosten über viele Jahre hinweg oder ist der einfach nur „symbolisch“? Wenn die Finanzierung des Dienstes nicht davon abhängig ist, wieso nicht einfach die App gratis machen? Dann ist Hemmschwelle „es mal auszuprobieren“ gleich null und die Leute würden es einfach mal installieren.

@threemaapp Seit 27.9.2014 habe ich Threema. Mit nur einem Kontakt kommuniziere ich darüber regelmäßig. Keiner meiner sonstigen Kontakte möchte wechseln. Mein voraniger Messenger ist RCS geworden da es nun auch bei iPhones funktioniert. Viele wundern sich das "SMS" auf einmal auch Sprachnachrichten, hochauflösende Bilder, Videos und sogar Gruppen kann. Das missionieren für Datenschutz habe ich aufgegeben. Fruchtet bei dummen Menschen eh nicht.
jantastic@threemaapp Das sind alles gute rational Gründe. Meiner Erfahrung nach sind die meisten damit nicht zu überzeugen. Ich kenne nicht alle Funktionen von WA, aber der Status ist vielen wohl sehr wichtig.
Um überzeugen zu können muss Threema ein funktionales Equivalent zu WA werden UND den von euch genannten Mehrwert bieten.
Technisch könnte ich mir auch noch Features wie "Empfangen von Sprachnachrichten blockieren" vorstellen (ggf. mit separaten Freischalten einzelner Nutzer, vgl. Sendebestätigung)

Torx@threemaapp Small groups can be convinced, but the remaining issue is with larger groups like sports club, communities, neighbours: Those that barely manage to use a smart device and the ones that are not creative enough to estimate what it means to keep on using WhatsApp.
For those I am using bridges (not with #Threema, but with #Matrix). What Threema seriously should consider to run bridges to those closed messengers as well. Even not running the App on your real phone/main profile already cuts Meta off quite well from the data they can harvest. Obviously the metadata and perhaps the chat should be considered tainted, but a bridge would be a boost for user acceptance.
And also, the current discussion in Switzerland about privacy and intrusion into the communication should be addressed.
