@anna this is actually tempting for me, but I'm apparently disqualified because I have a bachelor's & 15 years industry experience instead of a master's. That's too bad!

@ryanprior @anna Really cool. Operations Research and Logic were my absolute favorite subjects! But... I also only have a bachelor when I started working.

Maybe we should not require a master for PhD positions like in the US. 😁

@anna Would this be doable from elsewhere in the Netherlands? Or would I need to live in Delft - this sounds incredibly exciting.

(I'm much older than the normal PhD student, though 😔 - my master's was many years ago.)

@RosyMaths Depends a bit on where you are and how easy it is to travel to Delft, I guess. We have the norm that we try to be physically in the office for at least 3 days a week, with Wednesday being the day on which we schedule most section-wide activities. A couple of my colleagues are commuting from Amsterdam on those days.

@anna Ah - I'm all the way over in the east, near Hengelo 😬. But probably could figure something out with an overnight stay or two. 🤔. It's only 2.5 hours by car.
(EVERYTHING seems to be at least 2 hours from this part of NL! 🤦‍♀️)

It sounds super interesting so I'll apply anyway! Logistics can always be figured out if necessary.

@anna Just a heads up that the careers.tudelft.nl page is giving a privacy error. Seems the certificate expired yesterday.

I can still access the online application portal, but only because I bookmarked it previously. So it could be that other last minute applicants cannot submit today.

@RosyMaths Dutch people tend to be into short commutes, I have to travel about 1h40m from Utrecht to the office in Delft and that’s considered close to heroic. Delft is eminently doable from anywhere between Rotterdam and The Hague, many colleagues from that area do it by e-bike!
