Just need to repost this again. Greatest productivity hack you can ever do, and good for peace of mind at the same time.

Everything else will follow. Yes, really.

Yeah, everything else except friendship, and a significant other, and a family...
@partnano Unless you're talking about stuff that, if not thought through, will get people miserable, hacked, ruined or dead. Which can surprisingly easily be the case depending on your line work, including some parts of software dev (hopefully not gamedev).
@partnano (It's not that I want to rain on anyone's parade, it's just that I've seen quite a few tech stuff pushed out there without any care for whether they'll make the world a worse place. And quite sometimes, they do)

@ewjoachim Oh, I do agree there is way too much objectively shit software out there. But I think even in software dev this applies, but on a more granular level - to know the correct or elegant code-solution, you need to have done it first to even have the info (I usually talk about always planning to refactor!)

But publishing software? Yeah, don't publish shit software, please

@partnano Unfortunately once anything is barely good enough it's a fight to get anybody to understand why you want to be able to spend more time on it
@partnano lower your expectation, maybe the first version is all you need
@partnano “Do it. Do it right. Do it well.” – me paraphrasing Fred Brooks in 84.
@partnano Absolutely agree with rhis
@jachym @partnano My colleague always asks what the minimum viable product (MVP) is. Something that does exactly the job we get paid for. Anything better than that is polishing or extra work. Gives me lot of confidence not to feel bad for delivering something that is not perfect.
