Huh, YouTube’s new auto dubbing feature has been enabled on my channel.

My video’s now got audio channels with the speech machine-dubbed into other languages. They’re not marked as machine translated though

It seems to use my human-made captions (by https://caption.plus) for it.

Here are some examples:

@mattgrayyes personally, I find the auto-translation so fucking annoying that I can only use #YouTube through #invidious and #NewPipe which don't enable that shit.

Makes me want to shout at the person at Google who decided to automatically enable this!

Yep, this auto dubbing is the reason I unsubscribed from multiple creators because their reaction was "but this is great, it enables a wider audience" when I commented about this (a lot of creators are not aware that YouTube has enabled that on their channel so I try to inform the creator about it before I unsubscribe, about 70% disable this feature once they know it was activated on their channel)

@niklas @mattgrayyes I just don't bother with a #YouTube account since #AdPocalypse in 2016.

  • I'm #StillMad at #Google for going collective punishment against #SmallChannels like mine and #demonetizing me despite having literally done nothing wrong by any metric whatsoever. Not even a single complaint or rule infraction whatsoever...

They still have ~ € 5 in #advertising revenue widthhold in my account and with their retroactively introduced minimum watch time I'll never get above the quota for a payout.
