@noah What about this post makes you think it isn't intended to apply to all social media? I found this on Facebook. Do you feel it's wrong to point out the flaws of social media within social media? Should I be posting this on telephone polls?
@cherold no I like the post. sorry if it seemed like I was disagreeing. I just couldn't resist making this version of it, because seing this post on social media is kind of ironic in my opinion. its like we also only see part of the picture when looking at the post.

@noah @cherold

I'm afraid I think that's pretty much just you Noah.

If someone finds the post humorous, then I think they 'get' it.

@noah @cherold
Isn’t science also a social media (community)?!
@GuidoGTH @cherold I wouldn't say so, at least if we look at the definition from Oxford.
@noah @cherold
There is no science without a community. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

@cherold perfect allegory of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

@ct_bergstrom

@cherold there is no "science" presentation. Tech journals and such require mediation for lay readers. Would be more relevant to contrast "social media" with "mainstream media." Which can/does provide a broader view?
@Qbitzerre You're overthinking it dude
@cherold you're right. I should have ignored that carefully constructed comic that someone took the time to redistribute on social media for ... reasons?
@Qbitzerre @cherold
Yeah, let’s read a couple of studies to get this cartoon explained, yeah, let’s externalise thinking. πŸ˜…

@cherold I saw a documentary yesterday of scientist repelling down a huge hole in the ice sheet on Greenland.

At the bottom they found what they feared. Ice instead of open water. That indicates that the glacier holds more liquid than the models assume.

Furter more, the temperatre of the water is relatively warm and eats at the ice all year long instead of during the summer.

Conclusion: the next generation will have lots of coast disappearing. Science at work.

@Paladin @cherold
People who overpraise science a less likely apply other methods when necessary – science finds.
@cherold oh it’s so true! And nearly everyone believe that! No doubt at all.
@cherold the Image will also Work If you use the words "Feelings" and "reality"
@cherold ah ! Men ! πŸ™πŸŒ
