lisa cWaiting to board the Zephyr which is supposed to leave in 10 minutes and still shows on time and they make an announcement that says they’re still cleaning the train in the train yard because Amtrak layed off 80% of the staff. So who knows?
this is my first time on the Zephyr in probably 25 years!

I’m both glad that I can't see their butts and glad that the tradition which gives this part of the river the Moon River nickname hasn't gone away in the ~25 years since I last took this trip.
I travel with trekking sticks because I never know when my knee is going to hate me but by far the best use of them is propping up plugs 🔌 on Amtrak where about 75% of the sockets are so wide the plugs just fall out. Did plug blades used to be bigger and I’ve forgotten?
jcriecke@lmc the sockets actually have little pieces of springy metal that are supposed to keep the plugs secure but it’s not impossible for them to wear out. and considering Amtrak age and maintenance (through no fault of their own)…
@jcriecke That makes sense. These Superliner cars must be 30+ years old and I know they worked way back then.
