yomimono, still on earth@jackeric @CosmicTraveler I am about to do a transatlantic move with cats via plane and would like to hear more. Most of the reports I’ve found are “aw it was fine” which does not seem true
inomfood@yomimono I am also moving Transatlantic with a cat. It is worth noting that you should NOT drug your cats if they don't fly with you in the cabin. If they are in the cargo hold of the plane, they can freeze if they are on relaxing drugs.
If you reach out to your airline AND airport, you can see if it is possible to fly with the cats in the cabin with you. If you fly into the UK, none of the airports will allow cats in the cabin, and your best bet would be to fly into EU and take a ferry.
@inomfood Ah yes, important details! they are coming in the cabin and we have a direct flight to our destination. The destination doesn’t require quarantine for cats coming from our country. KLM allowed me to book the cats’ cabin reservations via the web interface and had a pretty clear FAQ about cabin travel with cats - I just hope everything in it is true 😅
