I was asked to write “What our vendor loved”: “We went in search of an iconic property before discovering Beehive Cottage, and it doesn't come more iconic than a part-thatched cottage beside a medieval castle.

We fully renovated it, turning a previously cold, damp space into a warm, welcoming home for all seasons. Summers here are wonderful, with the French windows fully opening onto the riverside patio, a perfect place for drinks, barbecues and relaxed afternoons enjoying the castle view.

The conservatory doubles as a winter garden, and in colder months, the open fireplace and underfloor heating keep things wonderfully cosy. Although we're right in the heart of a welcoming and active village, double glazing ensures peace and quiet indoors.

We've loved being steps away from the village shop, café, and country inn, with Babington House, Bruton, Wells and Frome just a short drive away. We'll particularly miss our dog walks in the nearby countryside and riverside paths.”
