Next up for me at the #CoopCongress today (maybe mute this hashtag now if this isn't your jam πŸ˜…) we have:

"What's next for us owning our own tech? Let's talk about #CoTech"

> Hosted by John Robb, musician, author and campaigner; and Natasha Natarajan, Outlandish Co-operative, and Richard Rowley from Agile Collective, who are both part of CoTech – a network of ethical tech, digital and creative co-operatives.

#AgileCollective #OutlandishCooperative #TechCoop #coop #WorkersCoop

It's a little bit embarrassing that the @cotechuk account is a dead bird.makeup account πŸ˜‚πŸ˜

And it looks like #AgileCollective and #OutlandishCooperative don't have #fediverse presences yet...

Maybe we should help fix that...

@da5nsy We’re here! Hope the Congress goes well! #cotech
@da5nsy Somewhat relevant: I worked on automation projects at Digital Equipment Corp back in 86 and machine vision for 3 companies after that and by 2000, I was wondering why labor unions weren't investing in robotics. The benefits of work will flow to the owners of the robots. Now I see the same problem with AI. But there appears zero effort for unions or cooperatives of "office workers" to own AI, not least of all because the ante for that game is measured in billions. Workers will lose.
