Dear Dems,
Stop asking. No more money. None. Until you get your act together and respond with the fire and fury and action the times demand.

@petergleick

➕➕➕💯💯💯

Have nothing to add.

Dems simply not able to meet the moment.

🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤡🫏🖕🖕💩💩💩

@petergleick Hey! C'mon. Chuck the Conqueror got the bill's name changed!!!
@petergleick they voted against the bill but they’re not in power. They’re trying to influence republicans to not vote for this terrible bill but because citizens couldn’t be bothered to vote or couldn’t vote for a woman they have little power. Im tired of the far left blaming democrats when they caused this disaster
@FaithinBones @petergleick
The issue (for me at least) is that they have an enormous communication network that they use.. not to organize protests or lead discussion or bring us to together in communities, but instead to beg us for another $5. And another. And another. The core of the party is clearly a fundraising machine that has no purpose other than to support itself, using the rhetoric of the left but not the spirit.
@FaithinBones @petergleick
Heck, only about half of dems even supported the No Kings events, which is the most mild form of protest I can imagine.
@ThreeSigma @FaithinBones @petergleick Not to mention the Dem Senators that have been voting for a bunch of Trump appointees.
@FaithinBones @petergleick
Sorry, Lenora, they are not. They are only attacking the #GOP agenda, that are not offering a meaningful agenda that addresses the problems ordinary mortals face.
@PaulWermer @petergleick the far left wil never admit their responsibility

@FaithinBones @petergleick
Agreed. And the #DNC will never admit that their failure to address valid concern gave #47 his victory. Ignoring voter's concerns is inexcusable And the centrist #democrats have done that for too long.

I had many discussions with #pelosi and #Feinstein and #KamalaHarris staffers telling me the concerns I heard while canvassing were wrong. The voters didn't agree

@PaulWermer @FaithinBones @petergleick

Both parties see us as a nuisance.

@PaulWermer @FaithinBones @petergleick

I currently see very little acquiescence from the Dems... but at least I do see some.

Pharaphrased "you are too blame for putting Trump in office because you didn't vote blue no matter who"...

Seems to be losing its potency.

Truth hurts, especially if you have to look at those on your own side without a filter... but you need to look anyway.

@TheEffekt @PaulWermer @FaithinBones@mastodon.social @petergleick
"Vote blue no matter who" is the perfect nonsense slogan if your intent is to cause a regression to ignorance. I really have to give the Republican donors credit for handling their Democratic candidates (and their voters!) so well.

@FaithinBones @PaulWermer @petergleick

By what stretch of imagination do you consider the Democrats "the far left"?

Do you even understand what that means?

@FaithinBones maybe if the "far left" are so numerous that they can make or break the Democrats, the Democrats should pander to them a little instead of prying off 1% of the Republican voters by trying to appeal to the right.

I do give them credit for stalling the bill as much as they could (making it be read out was great), but they should be bringing this energy to every piece of legislation that comes their way.

@petergleick

@FaithinBones @petergleick it's much easier to blame Democrats than republicans, isn't it!

@Amoshias @FaithinBones @petergleick

We don’t expect anything better from Republicans. (And this thread is about constant fundraising.)

@VirginiaHolloway @FaithinBones @petergleick "Im tired of the far left blaming democrats when they caused this disaster"

I don't think that's about fundraising, but if it is you're right, my comment doesn't make sense.

@petergleick

The Democratic Party absolutely will not do that. Their whole party apparatus is funded by corporate billionaires, same as the Republicans. I used to be a registered Dem. Left after the 2024 election fiasco, edged on by the corporate safe priorities.

@petergleick They may be too late to do anything by following the rules.
They missed their chance months ago.

@petergleick "hey look at this latest terrible thing they did! We need to act!

Send me money."

@petergleick

The Democrats don't see themselves as leaders in a fight against billionaire fascism.

They see their sole role as walking a tightrope to win re-election while letting MAGA get a taste of reality under a despot.

They don't want to promote audacious policies that win elections, in fear of losing favor with their own billionaires.

They believe they'd lose forever to Republican billionaires buying votes.

The rich certainly aren't giving a mandate to establishment Democrats to fight back.

Can Billionaires Buy Elections?

The recent news that Charles and David Koch and their network of conservative activists plan to spend $889 million on the 2016 elections has sent shockwaves throughout the political landscape. In this post, Darrell West reflects on the shifting influence of money in politics.

Brookings

@petergleick the number of text messages from Dems wanting money is over the top

and drowning out other messages like "don't forget important appointment"

@draNgNon @petergleick
You know, this is basically a form of information attack criminals use to overwhelm people and convince them to give up credentials in social hacks

@RnDanger yes, I do!

I also know many are legit, and given how we know it's a common attack, it's very irresponsible to use it for outreach

@petergleick

@petergleick They need to fight the fascists or be considered collaborators.
@petergleick
Where. is. the. shadow. government? (That was mentioned months ago, that has been done elsewhere in response to similar situations)
@petergleick Just like cops, they're using their own incompetence and failure to do their job as evidence of their indispensability and that they require more funding.
@petergleick
Only the Dems doing something get money. If any of them say a single smear against Zohran Mamdani, hell will rain down on them. ☠️
Democratic Party lawmakers are refusing to endorse Zohran Mamdani and are spreading lies about him in the

Despite his decisive primary victory and impressive campaign, many Democratic lawmakers are refusing to endorse Zohran Mamdani and are spreading baseless lies and smears in the process.

Mondoweiss
@adamsaidsomething @petergleick
These AIPAC owned NY Dems will pay for these slurs. They take their orders from a foreign country's "American" PAC rather than their own constituents. We now know the extent of their subservience. Disgusting. ☠️
@lin11c @petergleick THIS THIS THIS. They aren't seeing a dime from me until they prove they can stand up for one of their own. If they can't support Mamdani, why should I believe they'll support me?
@juliamon @petergleick
I mean jeez he is getting brutally attacked by the fake FOTUS and his sniveling hoard, and these Dems didn't wait even a beat to start attacking him as well. Their donors must have them on speed dial. ☠️
@petergleick You got the text message from Robert Reich, too?
@petergleick it’s time for more drastic measures: invalidate the compact clause and take back our liberties and the right to self determination.

@petergleick I feel the exact same way. The 2026 Senate race in Texas is going to be a difficult one.

I'm uninspired: https://www.terryvirts.com/

I hate when I go to a candidate site and they don't say anything about their positions. Like am i supposed to vote for you because you went to space?

@petergleick @lisamelton I’m getting real good at texting "STOP"
@petergleick For what it is worth, I received the following in my inbox. No request for money at all, although surely it is needed.
@petergleick I just don't want my money being used to attack #mamdani

@petergleick
I think it’s perfectly clear by now that the neoliberal, establishment Democrats have no intention of “getting their act together”.

They will never cede power. It must be taken away from them.

See the NYC mayoral election for an example of what’s actually needed. Hint: it’s not “abundance” or “vote blue no matter who”.

@petergleick Dear Americans, were you better off a year ago? What party had the power then?

I’d say it’s pointless to attack Democrats right now. But it’s not pointless. It is actually a huge help… to MAGA.
