I’m looking for a new opportunity! Reaching out to this community in the hopes of finding a good fit. I’ve long been in sysadmin, DevOps, and infrastructure engineering roles, with leanings towards security and collaboration. And for a potential shift, I’m open to roles in org supporting IT spaces.

I’m most excited to put my energy towards mission-driven, sustainable, or public good endeavors. Remote is ideal, but I'm in the SF Bay Area. Feel free to reach out! Please boost for reach.

I'm reaching out to my community again to see if anyone knows of an opening that fits my background and skills. This is a hard time to need to be looking for work and our savings are running out. My spouse is working to finish graduate school so my income is key for our family to be able to stay in our current home. I'm hoping to find a position by the end of the year, either full employment or contract.

I have more than two decades of experience as a DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer and System Administrator supporting and maintaining modern internet platforms. I'd love to contribute all of my skills to a diverse and collaborative team that embraces automation, system resilience, and security. I like empowering developers with automation and simple and effective observability tools. I'm particularly interested in mission-driven organizations that promote a greater good through technological innovation.

You can help by boosting this post for reach. I appreciate y'all! I'm trying to cast a wide net and am open to any and all connections and conversations.

I'm located in the SF Bay Area of California and prefer remote work, but will be happy to commute if within a distance of about 45min by #ebike: Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, SF…

Another way you can help, and benefit yourself:

Help us with a mortgage payment and buy the 3kWh portable battery system I never managed to wire in to our home. It's a system capable of split-phase 240V charging and production, as well as charging from a variety of DC sources.

The system is made by Bluetti, and is a pair each of B300 batteries and AC300 inverters. Also included is their AC300 "Home Integration Kit" consisting of a 30A subpanel and requisite cables for connecting to the inverters.

Or because it is designed to be portable, one or both sets of battery & inverter (for 120V or 240V) can be brought with for remote power storage needs.

And, I'm located in the SF Bay Area and the shipping packaging for it all is long gone.

@roens Please include your location - at a minimum continent, but country, state/region, or city (if it's well known) are also good - in the main post.

I see you have it in the follow-up post, but it really helps if people who see someone's boost of your #fedihire post can tell where you are at a glance.

@cunobaros Indeed, I had that on my earlier post. Updated, thanks!

@roens I recently started at #MongoDB and have appreciated the company's values. We are hiring; open jobs are here https://grnh.se/lp77l2xs1us and the open position on my team in particular is https://grnh.se/53jz7ts61us . We have openings for devs and SRE; you sound like SRE.

Most of our positions are remote-friendly, particularly for senior level and above. My own particular team has people spread out across the USA.

@jgoerzen Hey John! I had applied for another SRE spot a month ago. Thanks for the tip! I'll give it another go.
