You gotta think of yourself because nobody else will nor can they be expected to. You are your own responsibility.

Or something. I dunno. It's OK to be a little selfish and in fact you are obligated to be. You are being morally inferior if you don't take care of yourself.

edit: Good people want good for you, but YOU are responsible for arguing for what you need. That's the other important part. You are expected to.
