Starting 1st July 2025! 🙌 #Switzerland is implementing mandatory labelling on animal-based food products, including #meat, #milk, and #eggs, to disclose if animals experienced painful procedures without anaesthesia.

This includes practices like #castration #dehorning, #TailDocking, and #TeethClipping.

We applaud this introduction, as #consumers have a right to more transparency about the cruel processes to make more informed and #ethical choices.

Swiss food labels must declare animal suffering from July

From July 1, food labels in Switzerland will have to disclose whether products of animal origin involve painful practices. The Swiss federal government has approved a series of ordinances requiring the labelling of meat, eggs and foie gras.

@anna_lillith I am especially impressed by the fact that, not only would an importer have to label, but a restaurant buying it would have to put that on their menu, which is often where poor-standard goods get into the food chain.
