It’s from David Robertson’s essay in The Moderate Voice and sadly, does not just apply to divorce. #ReligiousAbuse & #ReligiousTrauma can & does occur in virtually any religious setting or indeed any setting where religion, scripture, theology, liturgy, or other spiritual practices are given primacy. There is nothing wrong with questioning religious leaders, their teaching, or even the fundamentals of faith. Doing so is not a sin. In fact, we should all probably engage in questioning our faith tradiditions, religious teachers, and spiritual beliefs on a regular basis. Such discipline does not separate us from God, although it may separate us from a particular church, congregation, tradition, or denomination. In fact, it does quite the opposite by fostering a deeper communication with & understanding of the Divine
